Sat, April 14, 12:25 to 1:55pm, New York Hilton Midtown, Floor: Third Floor, Americas Hall 1-2 - Exhibit Hall

Abstract

Citizenship education around the world mainly has a three-set model of learning, including knowledge learning, skill learning and values learning, and it focuses on ten core issues such as democracy principles and process, values of democratic citizenship, citizen’s rights and responsibilities. By analyzing the policy and curriculum documents of three main curricula in schools: Moral Curricula, History and Society and Comprehensive Practical Activities, it can be seen that extensive development has taken place in the citizenship education of compulsory education in China. Although there are still some inconsistencies that need to be amended and connected among these curricula, it is of great value that a three-dimensional structure which highly depends on and supports curricula has been formed.
