The quality of teacher support during middle to secondary school transitions in mathematics is crucial to student success. However, there seems to be a lack of communication between institutions and thus a disconnect between the support provided. This paper describes a professional development (PD) project that aimed to provide secondary and middle school educators with a collaboration forum. Participant feedback allowed the authors to develop a PD series that responded to the needs identified by the educators themselves. These sessions allowed the educators to collaborate across grade-panels, and learn that despite their grade differences, they shared many common perceptions. We argue that the value the educators found during these sessions was a result of the co-creation of the PD sessions.
