This paper describes, analyzes and compares access to environmental education across different social groups. To ensure a varied research sample, participants will be recruited from majority and minority language private and public schools, as well as alternative schools in Montreal and in rural areas surrounding the city, including Indigenous education centers. I aim to track and analyze the distribution of access to environmental education opportunities as well as the types of environmental education opportunities available to young people from a multiplicity of social, economic, cultural, linguistic, racial-ethnic and gendered backgrounds. I will situate each research site within the wider social and institutional relations impacting the implementation of environmental education opportunities in Quebec and Canada.
