Abstract

Technological literacy has become one of the basic skills in the 21st century. These technological skills should be integrated into teaching at all levels, including higher education. This study explored knowledge, attitudes, and intentions related to the use of mobile technology in classrooms among faculty who participated in a semester-long professional development focused on utilizing a tablet for teaching and learning. A pre-post assessment showed that faculty increased in their knowledge, perceptions of ease of use, attitudes, self-efficacy, and intentions related to the use of mobile technology in their classrooms. When exploring intentions to adapt mobile technology, mobile technology knowledge, perceived ease of use and usefulness, and attitudes emerged as significant predictors.
