Minoritized students (e.g. people of Color, low-income, first-generation) have been disenfranchised in our education system, particularly within their transition to postsecondary education. Scholarship has indicated that pre-college programs serve as useful tactics in improving the college readiness of students, particularly in graduating from high school and transitioning to college. However, many of these programs solely engage with aspects of academic achievement or only aid in the processes of applying to college. As it is important that students receive these academic provisions on navigating college, these programs must offer holistic support for their students’ transition. The purpose of this study is to investigate the experiences of students who participated in a pre-college program that focused on cultural wealth and academic skills.
