Abstract

From the time that the Higher Education Council announced that Syrian refugees could continue their university education through showing documents or declaring that they were university students in Syria, there is an ongoing debate on whether allowing the Syrian youth to pursue their university studies without requiring a university entrance examination will be a form of injustice for the Turkish youth. Therefore, this study examined, first, how the Turkish youth perceived the educational policies regulating the Syrian youth’s access to universities, and where they obtain information that causes them to have their perception; second, how Syrian youth who are already registered to the universities are corresponding to the reactions of the Turkish youth.
