The following paper explores the ways in which the literacy practices of undocumented youth within an activist group allowed them to navigate their own sense of self. By following a framework that combines literacy studies (from a sociocultural lens) and articulation theory (Hall, 1996), this study posits that the challenges that undocumented youth face to make sense of the labels that are applied to them are alliviated by their collaborative multimodal literacy practices, which allow them to rearticulate a sense of self.
