Abstract

This panel of renowned educational scholar-activists will think through the complexities of freedom of speech and the meaning of freedom within the context of 'this' particular educational, political, and social moment. Panelists will have a candid and intersectional conversation thinking through current threats to free speech and ways that we can all better speak to freedom. Panelists will share their own forms and acts of resistance while also sharing ways in which we might all (re)imagine and (re)build educational spaces, drawing on each panelists own work, toward protecting free forms of speech and speak toward freedom. The conversation will encourage attendees to think what a (re)building of educational landscapes might look like with an emphasis on speech as engagement and activism.
