Abstract

In this workshop discussion, program directors will provide oversight to online EdD programs, influenced by the Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (Framework), discuss their perceptions of how cultivating effective doctoral-level advisory and mentorship practices are complicated by the professional focus and virtual mode of delivery. In this session, presenters guide a conversation on the academic, professional, and ethical imperatives of online doctoral advising and mentoring, with the hope of developing a community of practice that will be positioned to “crowd-source” research and recommendations
