Abstract

The objective of this study is to gain insight in to the impact of Dutch educational policy,
aiming to improve the pedagogical didactical skill program (PDSP) for second-career
teachers in senior secondary vocational education. By analysing the policy measure as
intended and implemented in educational practice, tensions become visible. These tensions
can serve as heuristics for improving both the policy rationale behind the PDSP as the
actual (re)design of the PDSP.
