Session Type: Symposium
The contributions to our proposed session illustrate the work of critical education policy scholars engaging in policy research centered on federal, state, and local policy and politics. Bringing to bear critical theoretical perspectives on educational policy issues, actors, and governance levels is particularly timely given the extreme neoliberal education agenda of the new presidential administration that threatens public education. The study of educational politics and policy through critical framing offers the opportunity to view and think about education policy differently, providing complementary and, in many cases, disruptive understandings of educational policy issues, actors, and processes.
