Abstract

This session will be a facilitated panel discussion that pits William Penuel and Lorrie Shepard opposite three senior researchers in the area of data-driven decision making to discuss and debate the contention that the theory of learning.in data use is inadequate to inform day to day teaching decisions. The objective for the session is to have the participants engage in a scholarly discussion that will stimulate forward movement in the field to enhance data-driven interventions and research. Panelists will discuss what enhancements could be made to “data-driven decision-making assessment interventions” and how research can support work in the area of data use. The session should be of particular interest to members of the Data SIG and beyond.
