Session Type: Symposium
Revolutionary scholars are critically examining the contemporary notion of academics as public intellectuals. Our symposium will be dedicated to describing our revolutionary work as movement intellectuals. We are reminded that: “It does not happen very often that three scholars who do not typically communicate with each other, approach a creative alliance in search of a common goal” (Authors). Yet, in each of cases, we do so because while we are dreamers, our work is a direct result of how we conceptualize our roles within and outside of academia—in the public sphere. Revolucionarias en Acción: Movement Intellectuals Preparing Critical Pedagogues highlights the work of critical social justice educators who work to transform critical pedagogues in education.
