Session Type: Structured Poster Session
This structured poster session presents theory and methods for the study of disciplinary discourse and practices of science and engineering education. It will be comprised of an opening comment from the chair/organizer, six poster presentations of individual studies, and comments from two discussants. Each poster builds from the common methodological framework of interactional ethnography to tailor specific research approaches relevant to the discourse processes of their respective settings (kindergarten through university). The collective contribution provides models for the systematic ways study of large scale video and qualitative data to examine salient issues for making sense of doing, knowing, feeling, and viewing in science and engineering education.
