Session Type: Structured Poster Session
This structured poster session critically examines co-teaching and integrated service delivery for English learners (ELs) by (a) deconstructing the collaborative instructional cycle—co-planning, co-instruction, co-assessment, and reflection practices—of co-taught programs for ELs, b) presenting current, empirical research related to select aspects of co-taught programs for ELs including desegregating students, co-developing of pedagogies, building teaching partnerships, and engaging in other collaborative practices in the ESL/ELD context, (c) reporting on case-studies, participatory action research projects and longitudinal data that document the academic, linguistic and social-emotional outcomes of coteaching for ELs, and (d) presenting recommendations for making instructional, program design, and policy decisions based on student outcomes.
