Session Type: Symposium
This symposium seeks to investigate the tensions emerging from practices and policies that may motivate institutions to seek greater prestige within higher education. Prestige has long served as a strong driving force in higher education. Colleges and universities have been described to “insatiably consume resources in hopes of increasing their prestige” (Meyers & Robe, 2009, p.30). The papers presented will highlight the tensions and audience participation will focus on future research agenda that can advance access and student success.
