Session Type: Symposium
This symposium addresses the conference theme of dreams, possibilities and the necessities of public education through wild thinking with water as a research practice of ‘imagining impossible things’. We conceive of water, ‘one of the frontlines for the impacts of climate change’, as offering its own form of public education, an education that is without boundaries, that gathers up ‘stories from around the globe’ while respecting ‘the particularities of cultures, times, and places’. We examine the flows, ripples, and movements of a water-like learning/research as fundamental to all human life, provoking new conversations in qualitative inquiry that reach for new understandings of the human and new concepts of thought required of climate change (Colebrook, 2012).
