Session Type: Symposium
The purpose of this symposium is to respond to a 2016 AERA Disability Studies in Education (DSE) symposium on the boundary work between DSE and (special) education ((SP)ED). By bringing together a diverse group of scholars, at different places in their personal and professional careers and lives, who are committed to disability justice at its intersections, we hope to explore the consilience-ing, self-study-ing and radical love-ing conceptual frameworks as springboards toward our individual and collective boundary crossing and objects of DSE, (SP)ED and/or beyond for socio-historical, cultural, emotional and discursive development at the axiological, epistemological, ontological, and etiological lines (Akkerman & Bakker, 2011; Danforth & Gabel, 2006; Fromm, 1956; Author, Year; Tidwell, Heston, & Fitzgerald, 2009; Ware, 2004; Wilson, 1998).
