Global Citizenship Education and Sustainability Theories, Practices, and Policies

Abstract
Global citizenship is a fluid concept that has many models that both coincide and conflict with one another. In this symposium, we will analyze different concepts and practices of critical-based Global Citizenship and Global Citizenship Education (GC/E) that focus on social and environmental justice through democratic teaching to deepen and widen understandings of the world’s diverse cultures, as well as Earth’s ecosystem. In this symposium, we present and will form discussions with participants on various theoretical orientations of global citizenship and various associated educational research projects and teaching experiences.
