Session Type: Symposium
This session works towards an understanding of the material, spatial, conceptual, sociopolitical, and methodological borders in and around “learning.” The presentations seek to articulate educational possibilities for visually (re)working those borders. Prompting questions about the ways knowledge gets produced and can become undone, the authors all take up the idea of an educational border or perimeter, as a way of theorizing a range of educational issues. As a whole, the session examines the idea of a “border” or “perimeter” of learning from multiple angles and disciplines as a way of informing overlapping educational practices (teaching, researching, and making).
