Session Type: Structured Poster Session
Connected learning is an instructional design framework that seeks to bridge the multiple educational contexts of young people’s lives and leverage the affordances of new media to support the development of authentic, civically engaged learning products. While existing connected learning research focuses largely on youth learning, this session highlights the kinds of learning that teachers need to experience in order to bring new forms of connected teaching into the classroom and harness technology in pursuit of educational equity and justice. The posters in this session explore how the implementation of connected learning principles across formal and informal teacher education contexts provides opportunities for disruption of hierarchies in traditional learning by sustaining creativity, adaptability, and agency in curriculum and pedagogy.
