Session Type: Symposium
This symposium will describe lessons learned for instructional practice sharing between districts and charters, drawing on research conducted around the Gates District-Charter Collaboration Compact initiative, and highlighting New York City’s efforts to foster partnerships at the school and charter management organization (CMO) level. The goal of this session is to contribute to an emerging literature base that seeks to codify the systems, structures, and processes necessary to forge strong instructional partnerships between district and charters. The session also aims to provide strategies to practitioners and policymakers around developing cross-sector instructional partnerships that can advance teaching and learning in all schools.
