Session Type: Symposium
Bringing student voice to the apex of the learning environment is an essential dimension of democratic pedagogy. As practitioner researchers, we were curious how action research methodologies could support the goal of amplifying and integrating student voice into the curriculum planning, deep learning, and meaning making in the work of our educational settings. Building on participatory research with middle school students, college-age students, and educational leaders, this session seeks to illuminate the possibilities that a collective inquiry stance can have on the improvement of pedagogy and educational practice.
