Session Type: Symposium
Presented by a research team conducting a large-scale cluster-randomized controlled trial in a large urban district, this session focuses on the day-to-day logistical and planning choices that are largely unaddressed in the literature but are nonetheless critical to the overall quality of the evaluation and the extent to which design and methods are realized as conceived. Four papers focus on the logistics of the project’s large data-collection effort; data-quality issues from the planning stages to the development of complete and useable datasets; the conduct of coordinated cost and implementation studies; and the challenges, solutions, and lessons learned with respect to productive collaboration with the partner district.
