Session Type: Symposium
In 2016, the White House launched the Computer Science for All Initiative investing billions in states and districts to increase access to high quality CS opportunities in K-12 education. While efforts to expand access to CS training and coursework in the K-12 space have proliferated across the country, there is still much to be known about how to measure the efficacy of these efforts and their potential impact on teachers, classrooms, and students. This symposium will help fill this gap by presenting the work of CS education researchers who are studying current CS initiatives as well as developing instruments that might be used across studies to understand the efficacy of CS initiatives within and beyond their local contexts.
