Session Type: Working Group Roundtable
This working group roundtable introduces emerging educational researchers in a new collaboration across institutions, geographies, and research contexts. Commonalities include commitments to social justice in public education and critical participatory action research, ethical guides to multiple methodological modes of research (Cammarota & Fine, 2008). Separately, they work with youth activists, teachers, and hip hop artists, labor unions, parents, and community advocates, across diverse racial and ethnic demographics. They work in formal and informal learning environments and experience struggle and hope in activist scholarship with varied communities. Together, they take collaboration seriously between researchers and participants. They continue a cypher of conversation, action, and reflection, with those most impacted by educational research, pressing upon theories of change.
