Health care and education face similar measurement challenges. Policymakers, patients, parents, and students increasingly ask not only about outcomes, but how hospitals and schools, doctors and teachers, contribute to outcomes. The AERA/APA/NCME Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing identify core measurement principles that may be applicable to health measurement. And health measurement principles, including social risk adjustment, have corollaries in education. In this session, we will share and contrast approaches to healthcare and education measurement standards and identify opportunities for shared learning and research.
