Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explore the ethical dilemmas confronted by S-STTEP researchers as they engage in this research methodology. It uncovers these dilemmas through analysis of the practice of S-STTEP researchers in relationship to characteristics of intimate scholarship. It explores the question: What ethical dilemmas do S-STTEP researchers face in the process of conducting research. The data emerged as the researchers created accounts of when they confronted ethical tensions in their research studies. They articulate their findings through identifying the ethical tensions in terms of relationships, the particular, vulnerability, openness, dialogue, and ontology. This work makes visible the ethical dilemmas S-STTEP researchers face and can support them in living ethically in their research.
