Career and technical education is a focus of 21st century instruction throughout the U.S. Rural school districts often struggle independently with staffing and funding that will provide their students with career preparation. Many rural districts are using local partnerships and practices, such as becoming a district of innovation, to provide students with opportunities to attain career skills while gaining valuable work experience. Many of these students come from low socio-economic backgrounds and are not college bound for financial reasons. This study will examine the benefits of partnership building to all stakeholders involved.
