Abstract

Co-Teaching has been identified as a “mindful pedagogical practice” that supports teacher candidates’ professional development (AACTE, 2018, p. 19). This paper examines how co-teaching served as a catalyst for enacting mentoring interactions both inside and outside the action of teaching during the final internship experience (Schwille, 2008). Through findings culled from a larger qualitative study, this paper illustrates how four mentor-intern pair’s individualized co-teaching experiences provided them a space to establish a broader repertoire of mentoring moves that influenced learning during the final internship experience.
