Abstract

Multiple concepts of whole person development exist in education, research, and practice particularly, in higher education context. For instance, Holistic Education (HE), Holistic Health and Wellness Education (HHWE), Whole Person Education (WPE), Complementary and Alternative Medicine Education (CAME), and Integrative Health Education (IHE). This study explores an integration of these concepts through systems thinking approach to explore an integrated way forward to the whole person development. The findings presented show that the concepts of HE, HHWE, WPE, CAME, and IHE are embedded in each other to achieving a common goal of developing the whole person. These findings have important implications on the future collaborative efforts in whole person education, research, and practice.
