Structurally Responding to a Cultural Issue: Emergence of the Chief Diversity Office

Abstract

Utilizing qualitative data, this study explores the creation and development of chief diversity offices in higher education. Findings revealed that a primary impetus to inaugurate a chief diversity office results from institutions taking a structural approach to tackle cultural centered campus issues.
