Abstract

Aspiring to support the practices of school administrators, jurisdictions around the world have developed leadership standards and competency frameworks. Despite their popularity, there is a shortage of systematic resources to study this phenomenon. To address this shortage, the authors created a web-based repository of standards and competency frameworks from around the world: The Global Observatory of Leadership Standards. In addition to a comprehensive list of standards organized by country and region, the website includes an extensive list of studies on this topic. Aiming to support the study and analysis of this trend, and hoping to offer a resource for researchers and jurisdictions interested in developing their own frameworks, this poster reports on and introduces the Observatory to the academic community.
