In response to this year's call to embrace multimodalities in the pursuit of more equitable educational opportunities for marginalized youth, this paper argues for an expansion of notions of student voice, particularly as we consider what is culturally relevant for Latino male secondary students in urban schools. To do so, this paper draws upon insights gleaned from the “successful teacher” collages of 10 Latino male secondary students in one New York City public high school that, along with other qualitative data sources, highlight their suggestions for making urban high schools more relevant, responsive, and care-full spaces for Latino male youth.
