Wearable Neurophysiological Recordings in Middle School Classroom Correlate With Students' Academic Performance

Abstract

This study is an exploratory investigation on the prediction of academic performance by neurophysiological signals measured from 100 Grade 7 students during their daily Chinese and math classes, using wearable bio-sensing techniques. These recordings were found to be an effective predictor of the students’ academic performance measured by their final exam scores. The results provide evidences supporting the feasibility of predicting educational outputs by wearable neurophysiological recordings.
