Literature on democratic education abounds. The focus of this paper is on cultivating deliberative democratic iterations in relation to education, more specifically, pedagogical encounters in university classrooms. My contention is that democratic education has been cultivated in university education along the lines of deliberative iterations. However, expanding the notion of democratic education to that of rhythmic caring would enhance pedagogical relations among university teachers and students as an empirical study involving myself and students intimates. This is so, on the grounds that more autonomy, deliberation, and ethical responsibility will hopefully be enacted on the part of teachers and students.
