Abstract

This study situates local indicators of spatial association (LISAs) in the broader GIS toolkit, outlines their mathematical and conceptual underpinnings, and provide an example of an empirical application using administrative data from a college in California. Future directions for applications of LISA in educational research are discussed throughout.
