Learning From Accomplished Teacher Educators Internationally to Resist Untruths, Create New Narratives, Uphold Social Justice

Abstract

This paper presents the results of a study of 20 “accomplished teacher educators,” identified as such through a nomination process by fellow teacher educators internationally. The goal of the study was to learn from teacher educators who have demonstrated a significant impact on teacher education research and practice on an international scale, so as to benefit from their insight, experience, wisdom and recommendations as we examine, as a field and profession, where teacher education is and should be going, what we need to know and do in order to re-imagine and re-member ourselves as teacher educators, and how we can refocus our teacher education work on preparing teachers ready to address the pressing issues of our diverse world.
