Abstract

Sustainable entrepreneurship becomes a comparative advantage. But how to prepare for these workplace affordances? Existing lists of typical challenges an entrepreneur has to master do not take up sustainable issues yet. Purpose of this presentation is to get a holistic picture of sustainable entrepreneurs’ challenges by conducting a systematic literature review. By additionally using the cultural-historical activity theory (Engeström, 1987) as a heuristic it is possible to not only map out the sustainable entrepreneurs’ individual actions but also the collective activity including interacting context factors, and emerging contradictions between and within the central components of a sustainable entrepreneurship activity system. These insights give fruitful hints for designing authentic performance-based workplace learning environments.
