Abstract

This paper explores the possibility of working towards ethical foodscapes using humane education as a means to explore the viability of school milk schemes and corporate influence in educational institutions. The European Union invests 100 million euros annually into school milk subsidies and this paper will examine whose interests are protected and promoted through such schemes and what are the environmental, health, and animal protection issues involved in the dairy industry.
