Stratification.edu: How Institutional Websites Influence Graduate Education Program Ranking

Abstract

This multivariate regression analyzes websites from the top 77 graduate education programs per U.S. News & World Report 2018 national university rankings. Controlling for institutional characteristics, the size of educational program websites (0.03) is related to education ranking and better predicts ranking than any U.S. News education program ranking criteria. Theoretical implications are addressed.
