Making-for-learning and maker-pedagogy has found its way into schools and colleges of education, but little research has been conducted on making for learning in special education settings. Even less research is available that focuses on preservice special education teachers. This multiple case study explores the change in five preservice special education teachers’ perceptions and conceptions of maker pedagogies as they engaged in teaching students with disabilities. Results indicated that participants’ beliefs about teaching with maker pedagogies evolved over time. Participants also reported a deepened understanding of effective teaching methods for students with varying disabilities.
