We share the case of how one teacher from an urban school district shifted her dual language teaching practices during the first year of implementing the Early Years at Play (EYEPlay) program, an evidenced-based professional development which uses drama to promote dual language literacy. She received one-on-one coaching and PD on drama strategies to implement DL literacy lessons throughout the school year. Video data of classroom teaching, focus group data, and lesson reflections were analyzed to better understand how her practices shifted over the year. Using multimodal and case study analysis, we found Emilia became more confident in her teaching and began to incorporate educational best practices that were not present in her teaching at the beginning of the year.
