Abstract

The goal of the research project is to supplement the existing research literature by acknowledging and exploring classroom discussions of politics as an emotional situation. The researchers find that while affect and emotion are always present in classrooms, they often become visible in fleeting, moment-to-moment, articulations that occur in relation not just to rational deliberation, but in relation to the deeply felt personal issues that shape the social realities of student and teachers alike
