Exploring the Work of Silence in College Student Trauma

Sat, April 6, 4:10 to 5:40pm, Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel, Floor: Lower Concourse, Osgoode Ballroom

Abstract

Much research has demonstrated the pervasiveness of trauma in college student populations. Yet, there remain notable gaps in research about the experiences of college student survivors of trauma, particularly in terms of developmental outcomes. The purpose of this study was to explore the work of silence in traumatic experiences of college students and understand the intersection of silence and dimensions of psychosocial development.
