The PBS KIDS ScratchJr Family Creative Learning Workshops support low-income families with children ages 5-8 in learning to code using the PBS Kids ScratchJr App. We report implementation findings from 70 pre- and post-workshop parent surveys, as well as parent interviews, facilitator surveys and interviews, and observations. 97% of parents surveyed reported that they and their children enjoyed the workshop, and that they were likely to recommend it. Parents and facilitators reported that the workshop helped children develop skills and interest in technology and computer science/programming. Parents reported that the workshop led them to try new activities at home. Well-designed family workshops can engage parents and children, and families value the opportunity to spend quality time while learning.
