The ACT is a common measure of college readiness that is taken in high school and used in college admissions. The ACT, Inc. published an article regarding high school course predictors in 2004 to aid high schools in understanding how much value is added to a predicted ACT score based on taking specific courses. This study sought to update and confirm their findings with science and math courses using a longitudinal dataset from a high school in Colorado. Findings supported that the ACT shows temporal validity and offers context for other high schools to consider their STEM course offerings.
