Sat, April 6, 12:20 to 1:50pm, Fairmont Royal York Hotel, Floor: Convention Floor, Concert Hall

Abstract

Assessment development is an iterative process that requires multiple rounds of data collection from numerous sources to create an assessment that elicits valid and reliable results for an intended purpose. The goal of this study is to test the validity evidence process in relation to the Adolescent Comprehension Evaluation (ACE) Assessment (U.S. Patent Application No. 14/884,802, 2015), a web-based reading comprehension assessment application. One eighth grade passage and its accompanying reading comprehension questions are the data sources. To most effectively inform five different types of validity evidence, both quantitative and qualitative data analysis methods were implemented in this study.
