Mon, April 8, 12:20 to 1:50pm, Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Floor: 800 Level, Hall G

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to evaluate ‘University within School,’ a university-school partnership model for teacher education. The model is being evaluated according to its six main goals over three-year implementation. A descriptive study is designed to explore the views of 346 students in a K-8 level partner school; 10 college faculty; 11 administrators in partner school and university; and 88 undergraduate students (tutors). Five-point and seven-point Likert-type scales developed by the researchers were administrated to 455 participants. The results showed that 82.95% of the K-8 students reported that college faculty teaching them were very helpful, they were very knowledgeable about the content (82.28%) and their teaching method was very successful (82.28%).
