National Assembly of State Arts Agencies (NASAA) is the association of America’s 56 state and jurisdictional arts agencies. State arts agencies were created by legislatures and governors to promote the arts and reduce barriers to cultural participation. These agencies provide grants, services and leadership that make the arts accessible to everyone. NASAA shines a spotlight on what state arts agencies accomplish. NASAA is an authoritative resource for information about state arts agencies and public funding for the arts. NASAA research informs and inspires state arts agencies, driving excellence and innovation. It supplies relevant statistics and information on best practices as well as guidance on collecting and using data. NASAA has resources and data/statistics that cover topic areas such as how state arts agencies are funded; the impact of grants on artists, organizations and communities; research and policies supporting creative economic development; how arts education fosters young imaginations and success in school; and strategic planning and evaluation. In its commentary and participation, NASAA will represent the voices of practitioner, state administrator, legislator, and data user.
